Chanting is Half the Battle w/ Turiya & Ashleigh Fridays 7 - 9pm
"Listen to your voice: Do you like what you hear? As the eyes are the windows of the soul, so is the voice its clear echo.
Relax your voice, to put warmth into it. Speak from your heart, and not thinly (as many people do), from the throat and vocal cords."
Swami Kriyananda
Using our voice consciously is a perfect way to remain aware of our own state of consciousness and to share it with others.
Making friends with ones voice can be very helpful for anyone who wants to grow spiritually, and especially for those who are public speakers, and teachers, or who seek to lead others in yoga, meditation, chanting, or any spiritual activity.
This workshop will concentrate on the teachings of Yogananda and Kriyananda as they relate to the voice and our process of Self-Realization.
We'll use Energization, Meditation, Ananda Yoga, vocal exercises, group chanting, and singing to help you find or more clearly express the voice of your own Soul.
Each session will include 30 minutes of silent meditation and much of the time we spend together will be a spiritual practice. The practices we'll do will be very uplifting, heart opening, healing, and fun.
This will not feel like a class. It's all about getting together and opening our hearts, deepening our devotion, and radiating love and goodwill to all!
Don't miss it!
"With the soft finger-touches of my soul-intuition, I tuned the radio of my inner perception. At first I caught only the sounds of nearby experience. Then came a symphony of inner harmony, followed by sweet strains from my heart's orchestra of finer feelings. And then came the swelling chorus of my age-long cravings for Thee. All these I caught on the radio of my soul as I kept tuning my perception, waiting to catch the whispers of Thy voice, O Guardian Angel of all souls!
With infinite patience I went on tuning my radio. At last, when I was almost prepared to give up further trying, Thy song burst upon my heart. Oh! let me broadcast through my every word, now, the chorus of Thy songs."
